Ransomes & Sons Pig Feeder

English, circa 1861, cast iron trough. Organic in design -- it is an exceptional & unique sculptural piece.. Originally it was a manger used to feed livestock. Cast into the center of the piece is, "No. 4411, Stearns Suffolk Trough. Manufactured by Ransomes & Sims. No. 31. Registered Septr 21, 1861." Ransomes & Sons was a large English producer of railway cars, tractors and farm equipment. Measures 34" in diameter and 12" tall. Fabulous as a center piece on top of a table or a kitchen island filled with fruit or flowers.
