Massive Cast Bronze Architectural Relief Frieze

A massive cast bronze architectural bas relief, early 20th century, and 7 Feet long. It is possibly from a razed bank or cultural institution in New York. The Bronze consists of an elliptical arched top surmounting a pierced field centered by a pair of winged putti holding a wreath over a blank cartouche, the field filled with birds and squirrels among tendrils and berries.

This was purchased from an architectural salvage shop in lower Manhattan. It was supposedly removed from a building demolished in the 1960's. Given the detail, it was in all probability, an elaborate building and was used as the overdoor for the main entrance.
